The DBS Credit Architecture Program is designed to help the bank improve their credit processes and systems. It includes several components such as credit assessment, approval, monitoring, and recovery. It also includes features like credit scoring models, analytics and reporting tools to help manage credit risk more effectively. The program aims to streamline credit processes, improve risk management and increase efficiency.
As part of the DBS CAP project, I help design the Central Limit System (CLS) to enable credit control users (CCU) in processing borrower information within the integrated platform.
Problem
The main challenges faced is the cumbersome process of utilizing multiple systems for data entry, such as OSCA, Finacle, and Excel. The manual nature of this process increases the likelihood of operational risk due to human error, and system prompts to sign out frequently causes loss of data and slows down the process.
Solution
Together, we conducted extensive user interviews with multiple stakeholders to gain insight into their needs. Our goal was to develop solutions that not only add value, but also increase efficiency for the end-user. To validate the effectiveness of our solutions, we subjected high-fidelity screen designs and prototypes to thorough usability testing, ensuring they fulfilled the requirements of our valued users.

Results
The implementation of the Central Limit System (CLS) has had a significant and positive impact on the ability of credit control officers to manage credit risks. With the CLS, data entry operators are presented with clear, concise information for maximum efficiency. We designed the system with a focus on ease of navigation, including contextual actions, indications and other visual cues to aid users in their tasks and anticipate their next potential actions. The data-centric platform prioritizes a good layout and spacing to present large amounts of information in a digestible format.
